6.7.5. Replacement of brake shoes

Fig. 6.24. Replacement of brake shoes: 1 – support; 2 – union; 3 – cap; 4 – hose; 5 – wheel cylinder; 6 – bolt; 7 – lock washer; 8 – brake disk; 9 – brake shoes; 10 – guide of blocks; 11 – protection cover of a forward brake; 12 – protective cover; 13 – the directing finger; And — an observation port

In need of replacement of brake shoes unbend a corner of a lock washer of 7 (fig. 6.24) from a side of the lower bolt 6, turn off it, holding with a key for sides the directing finger, disconnect a demountable wire of a signaling device of wear of blocks. Then turn a support 1 assembled with the cylinder 5 concerning other finger, take out a brake shoe from the piston and lower a support into position.

When replacing blocks of a forward brake it is necessary to replace a signaling device of wear of blocks also. The signaling device can be pressed in a block only once since it is a detail of single use. The signaling device is established in an internal block in an opening closest to a brake hose, then the wire of a signaling device needs to be carried out through collars on a hose and to connect to an electric chain of the car.

If liquid level in a tank of the main cylinder approaches the mark "MAH" or corresponds to it, then before an utaplivaniye of the piston remove a part of liquid from a tank not to allow its slopping from a tank.

Carefully, not to damage a dustproof cap and not to allow slopping of brake fluid from a tank of the main cylinder, move the piston as it is possible further in the cylinder, making a start the screw-driver from a surface of a brake disk. Having lifted a support, replace a worn-out external block new and lower a support into position. Once again move the piston in the cylinder and, having lifted a support, replace an internal brake shoe.
Having lowered a support, turn and you zakontrit a bolt 6 which carving has the covering preventing a samootvarachivaniye of the directing finger.
When replacing blocks check a state and landing in nests of protective caps of pistons and covers of the directing fingers. If necessary replace them or provide the correct landing in nests.
