6.3.2. Check of efficiency of the vacuum amplifier

Fig. 6.2. Vacuum amplifier: 1 – rod; 2 – sealing ring of a flange of the main cylinder; 3 – cup of the case of the amplifier; 4 – adjusting bolt; 5 – rod sealant; 6 – returnable spring of a diaphragm; 7 – hairpin of the amplifier; 8 – sealing cover; 9 – case of the amplifier; 10 – diaphragm; 11 – cover of the case of the amplifier; 12 – piston; 13 – protective cover of the case of the valve; 14 – air filter; 15 – pusher; 16 – returnable spring of a pusher; 17 – valve spring; 18 – valve; 19 – valve case plug; 20 – rod buffer; 21 – valve case; And — the vacuum chamber; In — the atmospheric camera; With, D — channels

Press 5–6 times a brake pedal at the idle engine to create in cavities And yes In (see fig. 6.2) the identical pressure close to atmospheric. At the same time determine by the effort enclosed to a pedal whether there is no jamming of the case of the valve.
Holding a brake pedal in the pressed situation, start the engine. At the serviceable vacuum amplifier the brake pedal after start of the engine has to "leave forward".
If the brake pedal not "leaves forward", check fastening of a tip of a hose, a state and fastening of a flange of a tip in the amplifier, a hose to a tip and the union of an inlet pipe of the engine as weakening of fastening or their damage sharply reduces depression in a cavity And yes overall performance of the amplifier.
